Role Description
Senior Hardware Product Architect - AI-Integrated Industrial Systems (2026)
Location: Bengaluru - Onsite (UST R&D Lab)
Reporting To: Director - Product Architecture
Role Summary
We are hiring a hands-on Senior Hardware Product Architect to drive end-to-end development of AI-integrated industrial hardware platforms.
This role demands a builder-leader someone who designs, prototypes, debugs, refines, and ships real industrial products. The ideal candidate combines deep electronics expertise, mechanical integration leadership, and a strong execution mindset.
This is not a coordination role.
This is a product ownership role.
What You Will Own
- Complete Hardware Lifecycle
Convert product vision into hardware architecture.
Design schematics and review multi-layer PCB layouts (4-8 layers minimum).
Lead power architecture design (DC/DC, battery systems, EMI discipline).
Execute board bring-up, debugging, validation, and pre-compliance preparation.
Drive DFM/DFA optimization for production.
- Mechanical & Industrial Integration
Lead enclosure architecture alongside CAD teams.
Own thermal strategy, ingress protection, mounting strategy, structural integrity.
Ensure enclosure-electronics co-design discipline.
Translate EMI, grounding, antenna placement constraints into mechanical decisions.
- AI-Integrated System Thinking
Architect hardware for Edge AI use cases (vision, sensor fusion, analytics).
Understand compute-power-thermal trade-offs.
Plan hardware around model size, memory bandwidth, and inference constraints.
Work with embedded + AI teams to ensure system coherence.
Rapid prototyping (3D print, CNC, quick-turn PCBs).
Hands-on debug using oscilloscope, logic analyzer, thermal imaging.
Strong debugging ownership does not delegate first failure.
Mentor HW + mechanical engineers.
Own BOM optimization and vendor strategy.
Drive prototype pilot production transition.
Interface with EMS partners for NPI builds.
What We Are Specifically Looking For
8-15 years in industrial hardware product development.
Has shipped at least 2 physical industrial products.
Strong RF layout fundamentals (LoRa / BLE / UWB preferred).
Experience with MCUs (ESP32, STM32, RP2040 class).
Deep understanding of grounding, EMI discipline, connector strategy.
Detail Obsessed. Notices What Others Ignore.
Comfortable working in lab environment.
Thinks in systems, not in blocks.
