This role requires full‑time onsite work. Candidates must be currently based in Bangalore and able to commute onsite to our HAL Airport Road (Murugeshpalya) office. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this position.

Within Acron Aviation, the Surveillance organization develops and sustains safety‑critical systems that enable aircraft awareness, collision avoidance, and airspace interoperability, including ADS‑B, Mode S transponders, traffic collision avoidance, and integrated surveillance solutions across commercial, military, and rotorcraft platforms. This work requires deep expertise across systems, hardware, software, and RF and is executed with a strong emphasis on technical rigor, disciplined execution, and close coordination with operators and OEM partners.
Role Overview
As a Specialist Electrical Engineer within our Surveillance product line, you will focus on developing TCAS and transponder avionics for commercial aircraft. Responsibilities span concept generation, design, qualification, and lifecycle management. You will work closely with multi‑disciplinary engineering teams, as well as operations and manufacturing, to deliver certified products to customers. This role supports senior engineers through analysis, documentation, hands‑on testing, simulations, and design input.
Essential Functions
- Design and support digital, analog, and power circuitry, with supplemental RF principles, in avionics applications
- Design, analyze, and test circuits using microprocessors, memory, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, PCIe, and other high‑speed and avionics interfaces
- Support production and resolve factory issues affecting assigned products
- Conduct electrical schematic generation and review
- Support and review CAD layout (Altium preferred)
- Develop change impact analysis documentation and support product management initiatives, including obsolescence, design‑to‑cost, and design‑for‑manufacturability
- Utilize electrical analysis tools for power distribution, stress analysis, and simulation
- Communicate effectively across multiple technical and functional teams
- Interface directly with customers, virtually or in person, to understand issues and develop actionable solutions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of related experience
- Hands‑on electrical hardware design experience across the full product lifecycle, including concept, design, integration, production, and test
- Proven experience applying value engineering and lean design practices
- Proven experience implementing automation and AI to reduce cost and cycle time
Preferred Additional Skills
- High‑speed digital design experience with DDR4/DDR5, PCIe, and Ethernet
- Signal Integrity and Power Integrity (SI/PI) analysis and simulation
- Reliability and safety analysis, including derating, transient protection, and worst‑case analysis
- DC‑DC conversion design (buck, boost, flyback) for high‑current digital loads
- AC‑DC conversion design and qualification, including PFC, rectification, and isolated power stages
- Working knowledge of Python or C++
- Experience with aerospace systems and integrated hardware/software product development
- Awareness of FPGA and firmware development requirements as they relate to electrical design
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in cross‑functional teams
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
- Awareness of aerospace standards including DO‑160, DO‑178, and DO‑254
- Experience with Design‑to‑Cost and Design‑for‑Manufacturability principles
- Experience supporting production and test activities across geographically distributed teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously
- Ability to operate independently with limited oversight and identify appropriate paths forward
