Job Description
As a Senior Data Engineering Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Bristlecone's data infrastructure. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing and maintaining efficient data pipelines, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and cloud platforms. Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable data pipelines and architectures, ensuring optimal data flow and storage.
- Implement and manage data warehousing solutions, utilizing best practices and industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering, proposing innovative solutions.
- Ensure data security and privacy compliance, implementing robust access controls and encryption.
- Monitor and optimize data pipeline performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
- Document and maintain data engineering processes and best practices, ensuring knowledge transfer.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their data needs and provide efficient solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale data pipelines.
- Expertise in big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and experience with cloud-native data services.
- Strong programming skills in languages like Python, Java, or Scala.
- Experience with data warehousing solutions (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake) and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with data modeling and database design principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on optimizing data-intensive systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a customer-centric approach.
