Summary
Purpose of the Position (Short Summary of the Role):
To manage and execute corrosion-related activities across the vehicle development lifecycle, including system release, simulation support, test planning, execution, and documentation, ensuring compliance with internal standards and quality benchmarks
Authority
To coordinate and conduct corrosion protection test and Corrosion release of the car
Skills Required
- ED coat simulation software
- Corrosion test standards
- Data analysis and reporting (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of Sheet metal materials & component design and testing
- CAD Expertise CATIA V5
- Documentation and reporting accuracy
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities &Tasks:
- Responsible for the release of corrosion protection systems for vehicle
- Ensure alignment with VW group corrosion standards and specifications.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Design, Materials, Manufacturing) for system integration.
- Prepare and validate CAD data for Electro-Deposition (ED) coat simulation.
- Collaborate with simulation teams to ensure accurate representation of coating thickness and coverage.
- Evaluate simulation results and address open issues in line with standards
- Plan and oversee corrosion car build as per test requirements.
- Organize and lead review meetings to align on test outcomes and next steps.
- Conduct audits to ensure vehicle preparation meets corrosion test standards.
- Coordinate with workshop and logistics teams for timely readiness.
- Develop and manage corrosion test plans, including part-level and full vehicle tests.
- Track test car preparation, scheduling, and execution
- Ensure test coverage aligns with regulatory and internal validation requirements.
- Conduct corrosion tests (e.g., cyclic corrosion, salt spray, humidity chamber).
- Monitor test progress and ensure data integrity.
- Liaise with test labs and external agencies as needed.
- Prepare and track purchase orders related to testing and transport.
- Maintain documentation for vehicle movement, test status, and compliance.
- Prepare preliminary corrosion test reports for internal review.
- Analyze test results and compile final corrosion release documentation.
- Present findings to stakeholders and support release decisions.
