What You’ll Do
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure predictive execution for the product design & development of Aircraft – Fuel Valves
- Provide technical leadership to Fuel Systems by leading NTI, NPI, Systems Engineering, driving Systems, Products, and process improvements to contribute to accomplish the objectives of Aerospace Fuel Valves under FDS AF and Ground Refueling portfolio.
- Contribute to Aerospace Fuel Valves FDS AF MEFP PRV and Ground Refueling valves Technology roadmap by working closely with Global Chief engineers, Product line managers and experts.
- Provide critical inputs for strategy development, alignment, developing and deploying systems and processes aligned to strategy.
- Develop & lead innovative product technologies in Fuel Valves
- Recognized SME in aerospace fuel system valves, driving design, performance, and reliability excellence.
- Capture and translate VOC into actionable product strategies using Value Proposition and Business Model frameworks.
- Lead concept-to-MVP development, leveraging predictive engineering for feasibility and detailed design.
- Drive robust product development using DFSS and Six Sigma methodologies to ensure predictable, high-quality outcomes.
- Advance technology maturity aligned with TRL/MRL/CRL targets through structured development and validation.
- Champion innovation, creating differentiated solutions and securing IP through patents and trade secrets.
- Oversee prototyping and validation, ensuring design verification through testing up to commercialization.
- Lead IPTs on complex programs, collaborating cross-functionally (Program, COEs, SCM) to deliver integrated solutions.
- Shape product technology roadmaps, anticipating future trends and developing next-generation fuel system concepts.
- Mentor and govern technical excellence, driving DFSS adoption, digital design thread, and first-pass yield improvement.
Qualifications
Minimum 12+ Years of relevant experience with Master’s Degree or 14+ years with Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering.
Skills
- Demonstrated experience in leading technology, product development and innovation in similar engineering organizations.
- Demonstrated experience with multinational engineering organization.
- Strong knowledge of Aerospace Fuel Distribution Systems – Fuel Valves, Actuators & Ground Refueling Systems - Valves, Nozzles & Couplers.
- Proven ability to conceive System Architecture ideas and demonstrate feasibility through relevant engineering calculations/predictions.
- Demonstrated Experiences in design of complex valves.
- Demonstrated experiences in Requirements Engineering, Requirements elicitation, Requirements validation & Requirement compliance assessment.
- Demonstrated experiences in Validation & Verification, Knowledge of experimental test procedures and creating Engineering test plan documents.
- Demonstrated experience in leading technology, product development and innovation in similar engineering organizations. Developing multi generation technology and product development plans
- Demonstrated expertise in CAD & Analytical Tools (CATIA, Matlab/Simulink, MathCAD, CfX)
- Experiences with Continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience with the Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodology and tools necessary. Desired DFSS Green Belt
- Experiences in systematic problem-solving methods and tools.
- Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability.
- Experience in PLM tools (ENOVIA)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills. Experience interfacing with global teams and working in matrix organization.
