Company Description
The Ray of Hope Center for Autism specializes in early intervention services for children with autism and related disabilities. Utilizing principles from Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), the center focuses on improving socially significant behaviors, including communication, language, social interactions, self-care, academic, and work skills. Additionally, efforts are directed at identifying and reducing problem behaviors, such as tantrums and self-injurious actions, to facilitate learning. The center is committed to empowering children and providing them with the tools for a better quality of life.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Bengaluru for a Special Education Teacher. The role involves creating and implementing individualized educational plans, teaching middle school-aged students with autism and related disabilities, and fostering the development of essential skills such as communication, social interactions, self-care, and academics. The teacher will also work collaboratively with families and other team members to address challenging behaviors and support overall progress.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Special Education practices and strategies, particularly for children with autism and related disabilities
- Proven experience in teaching, with an emphasis on middle school education
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, families, and team members
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles is an asset
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Special Education, Teaching, or related field
- Relevant certifications or licensure in special education are a plus
