About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Spare Parts Master Data Quality Specialist to join our MDM team. In this role, you will be the gatekeeper of our spare parts data, ensuring its accuracy, completeness, and compliance. You will review records processed by analysts, identify root causes of data errors, and design preventive process improvements. This is a critical role that directly impacts our data governance, supply chain efficiency, and maintenance operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Master Data Quality Assurance
• Review and validate spare parts master data created or modified by analysts.
• Identify data errors, inconsistencies, duplicates, and non-compliance with standards.
• Ensure strict adherence to naming conventions, classification structures, and attribute completeness.
• Perform periodic audits and quality checks on spare parts master records.
Data Analysis & Root Cause Identification
• Analyze recurring data quality issues to identify root causes.
• Assess data issues based on business impact and operational risk.
• Track trends and patterns in spare parts master data errors.
• Prepare insights and actionable recommendations for data quality improvement.
Process Improvement & Standardization
• Design and implement preventive controls to improve data quality (shifting from corrective rework to prevention).
• Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), validation checklists, and governance guidelines.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to standardize spare parts data practices across the board.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Training
• Support and coach Master Data Analysts on data quality best practices.
• Work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams.
• Communicate data quality issues clearly in business language and deliver refresher training sessions.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
MDM & Data Quality Expertise
• Strong understanding of spare parts/material master data (descriptions, classifications, UoM, attributes, BOM relevance).
• Experience with the entire Master Data Lifecycle (creation, validation, change, retirement).
• Ability to define and monitor data quality KPIs (accuracy, completeness, consistency, uniqueness, timeliness).
• Strong skills in data validation, auditing, error identification, and data cleansing techniques.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
• Strong data analysis skills using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
• Ability to spot patterns in data errors and prepare quality dashboards/reports.
• Practical decision-making skills based on business impact and risk.
Process Improvement
• Ability to analyze current master data processes, identify control gaps, and design solutions.
• Experience creating and improving SOPs.
• Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma concepts is a strong plus.
Behavioral Traits
• High level of precision and attention to detail when reviewing technical master data.
• Strong ownership and accountability mindset.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback and coach team members.
Nice-to-Have Skills (Preferred):
• Knowledge of cataloguing standards (ISO, UNSPSC, eCl@ss).
• Experience in spare parts criticality analysis.
• Working experience in manufacturing, maintenance, or asset-intensive industries.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP (MM/PM/EAM modules), Oracle, Maximo, or similar MDM systems.

• Measurable reduction in spare parts master data errors and rework.
• Improved data quality KPIs and successful audit results.
• Increased analyst capability and adherence to standards.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, IT/Computer Science, or Data Management/Analytics.
