Role Description The Space Tutor will deliver engaging astronomy and space science sessions to students, primarily in school settings, using interactive demonstrations, educational tools, and hands-on activities. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and teaching materials aligned with SPACE’s curriculum, conducting workshops and observations, and guiding learners through concepts such as astrophysics, telescopes, and space technology. The role involves coordinating with school staff, maintaining equipment used for astronomy demonstrations, and ensuring sessions are safe, inclusive, and age-appropriate. The Space Tutor will also support events, outreach programs, and special projects designed to promote scientific curiosity and awareness. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Dwarka.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong knowledge in astronomy, space science, and basic physics, with the ability to explain scientific concepts clearly to diverse age groups.
- Candidates should possess skills in classroom instruction, educational facilitation, and curriculum delivery, including preparing lesson plans and managing group learning activities.
- Candidates should possess communication and presentation skills, including clear spoken and written English, effective public speaking, and the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Candidates should possess skills in using and maintaining basic astronomical equipment such as telescopes and related observation tools, with comfort in using digital resources and internet-based astronomy platforms.
- Candidates should possess organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to coordinate sessions, handle multiple programs, and maintain accurate records of activities.
- A bachelor’s degree in science, education, astronomy, physics, or a related field is preferred; prior experience in teaching, science outreach, or STEM education is an advantage.
- Candidates should demonstrate curiosity about space science, a learner-focused mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively with schools, colleagues, and partner organizations.
Salary Range: 15K to 25K
