About the Role:
The Shipping Clerk plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of outgoing shipments within a durable goods manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for coordinating and executing all shipping activities, including order picking, packing, labeling, and documentation, to meet delivery schedules and customer requirements. The Shipping Clerk will utilize various warehouse equipment and technology to handle materials safely and maintain inventory accuracy. This role requires close collaboration with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to streamline shipping operations and resolve any discrepancies. Ultimately, the Shipping Clerk ensures that products are shipped on time, in good condition, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in shipping and receiving within a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in using bar code scanners and RF scanning equipment.
- Ability to operate electric and manual pallet jacks safely.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in durable goods manufacturing shipping operations.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Forklift certification or experience.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick and fill orders using RF scanners and bar code technology to ensure correct product selection.
- Operate electric pallet jacks and manual pallet jacks to move and stage products for shipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping labels, ensuring all information is accurate and complete.
- Inspect outgoing shipments for quality and quantity compliance, reporting any discrepancies or damages to management.
- Coordinate with warehouse and production teams to maintain organized shipping areas and timely dispatch of goods.
