The Southeast Regional Professional Development Center (RPDC) has been housed on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University since 1996.  The Center serves approximately 84 school districts in the southeast region.  RPDC personnel provide training programs for the teachers and administrators throughout the area on a continuous basis.  

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Actively support the effective implementation of the District Continuous Improvement (DCI) process to promote internal capacity building for sustainability and fidelity of Local Education Agency (LEA) practice to DCI expectations
  • Provide support, as indicated by LEA need, for comprehensive implementation plan development relating to the identified set of effective educational practices
  • Assist LEAs in determining training needs and in procuring Statewide System of Support (SSOS) personnel to provide high-quality professional development for training on the identified set of effective educational practices
  • Provide support, as indicated by LEA need, in leadership components of DCI
  • Provide coaching, as indicated by LEA need, to leadership and teams on identified effective educational practices, demonstrating a high effect on student outcomes
  • Provide coaching, as indicated by need, to LEA leadership and teams in the development of efficient and effective district and building collaborative teams for data-based decision making
  • Assist LEA staff in using on-line resources and virtual tools for training and coaching to support DCI implementation
  • Support LEA staff in implementing the use of DCI-specified materials, processes, and effective educational practices with fidelity
  • Provide coaching support in integration of effective academic and school-wide social/behavioral systems
  • Provide coaching for district and building leadership teams in school-based implementation coaching to build capacity and promote sustainability of effective educational practices
  • Provide input in development of training and materials for literacy practices that complement DCI systems and practices, as requested
  • Participate in training opportunities on literacy practices that complement DCI systems and practices, as requested
  • Participate in collaborative planning meetings with other DCI team members within and across teams
  • Adhere to designated communication systems with team facilitator and with other DCI team members within and across teams
  • Assist Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) with the collection of data for statewide analysis and dissemination 
  • Collaborate with DCI team members and adhere to established team processes and practices
  • Report data and consultant activities by the 5th day of each month using a DESE provided system
  • Attend and participate in learning opportunities with other DCI team members to build common language, skills, processes, and practices to support LEAs in DCI efforts
  • Attend and actively participate in all DESE required statewide meetings/trainings relative to the DCI as designated by the master calendar
  • Attend professional development opportunities applicable to the DCI as requested/approved by DESE
  • Attend and present at the annual DCI Summit

Position Duties

  • Bachelor's degree in Education 
  • 5 years of experience as a classroom teacher or school administrator
  • Knowledge of research-based best practices in education
  • Knowledge of Missouri Learning Standards
  • Knowledge of Common formative assessments 
  • Knowledge of data-based decision-making
  • Knowledge of School-based implementation coaching 
  • Knowledge of School-wide Positive Behavior Supports (SW-PBS) 
  • Knowledge of Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) 
  • Knowledge of Special Education including the requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
  • Experience collaborating in a variety of team opportunities
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills-experience in facilitating adult learning
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen, work in groups, communicate both verbally and non-verbally in a professional manner, negotiate with others, and solve problems
  • Ability and means to travel in the state of Missouri on a regular basis
