Raymond Laborde Correctional Center is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join the team in the Nursing Department as a NIGHT SHIFT REGISTERED NURSE! You could join the group of other medical professionals who perform the nursing and care of inmates within a state correctional facility. Learn to manage a wide spectrum of conditions, from emergency response and acute trauma, to chronic disease, wound care, and mental health. Position Duties
Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse.

Job Duties:
- THIS POSITION WORKS THE NIGHT SHIFT
- Performs professional nurse duties that may include administration of blood and blood components, I.V. medications, parenteral nutrition, central line therapy, etc., under the close supervision of a registered nurse of a higher level
- Administers medications and treatments in a timely manner and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Assists in development of nursing plan of care patients in assigned units.
Required License:
- This position requires a Registered Nurse License, or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse
Work Environment:
- Will work regularly to provide health care services for Adult Male Inmates
- Candidate will perform duties along with other Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Nurse Practitioner, Doctors, Dentists, and Mental Health professionals
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: PROBATION, or PROMOTION OF A PERMANENT, CLASSIFIED LOUISIANA STATE EMPLOYEE
- Current permanent status classified LA State employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if accepted.
- An employee selected for a promotion may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted.
- This posting may also be used to fill a vacancy as a temporary job appointment. If filled as a temporary job appointment, should a permanent position become available, the employee may be converted to a probational appointment.
Compensation: This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) at each level. However, the salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
‘Premium Pay’ paid in addition to regular pay for qualifying conditions: Retention * Credentials * Experience * Shift Differential. There is Premium Pay at a rate of $5.00 per hour for each hour worked, in addition to regular pay.
Career Progression Group: REGISTERED NURSE 1, 2, or 3
- Filled at the highest level of experience of the selected applicant.
- Salary depends on level of experience.

- This is a 24-hour facility.
