The mission of the South Carolina Department of Education is to serve students, support teachers, empower parents, and engage the community so that every student graduates prepared to reach their full potential. Job Purpose:The South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) is seeking a Statewide Data Integration Coordinator to serve as the expert, point of contact, and presenter on data entry and transfer processes, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of version and process changes and effectively communicating these processes to state agency and school district staff. This position will develop deep expertise in Ed-Fi API technology and SCDE's Ed-Fi data integrations, ensuring effective data transfer and alignment with downstream data needs. The ideal candidate will be skilled in communicating, distilling technical concepts into understandable terms, fostering collaboration, and designing, executing, and optimizing workflow processes.Responsibilities:Develop Expertise & Communication – Serve as the primary expert on Ed-Fi API technology, SCDE's Ed-Fi data integrations, and downstream data processes. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes and ensure seamless communication across relevant teams.Process Documentation & Training – Create and maintain documentation for data entry and transfer processes. Provide technical training and presentations to SCDE staff, school districts, and external stakeholders in various settings.Student Information System (SIS) Support – Coordinate and assist with the proper use of PowerSchool and other student information systems (SIS). Monitor and track district requests for SIS support, working with PowerSchool, LLC, and SCDE teams to resolve issues. Maintain historical and current documentation for SIS-related support.System Maintenance & Data Collections – Assist in maintaining SIS test database servers, monitoring periodic data collections from districts and special schools, and tracking multiple SIS versions and implementations.Development & Testing – Support the evaluation, development, and testing of new and existing SIS-related data system components. Manage vendor relationships related to these components and collaborate on instructional and technical documentation.Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement – Maintain an effective flow of communication between SCDE and district SIS users, coordinators, and managers through various methods such as email, memoranda, etc. Regularly engage with District Data Governance Group (DDGG) to ensure alignment and support.
