Job PurposeThe Sourcing Officer will be responsible for sourcing, screening, documentation verification, and coordinating crew relief planning for Second Officers, Third Officers, and Junior Officers. This role ensures timely availability of qualified officers, compliance with documentation, and seamless coordination with stakeholders.
Qualifications & TrainingEssential:
- Graduate degree in HR / Business Administration / Maritime Studies
Desirable:
- MBA in Human Resource Management
ExperienceEssential:
- 5–7 years in marine recruitment / sourcing junior ranks
Desirable:
- Up to 10 years in maritime industry / crewing / fleet personnel
Key Responsibilities1. Sourcing & Crew Relief Planning
- Source Junior Deck Officers (2/O, 3/O, Junior Officers) via portals and networks
- Ensure relievers are sourced at least 10 days before sign-off
- Coordinate with crewing team for planning and scheduling
- Track availability and arrange interviews/approvals
- Attempt early relief arrangements wherever possible
2. Documentation & Compliance
- Verify validity of certificates for full contract duration
- Ensure documents align with company matrix
- Cross-check sea service records (CV, CDC, Master Checker)
- Maintain accurate candidate records
3. Training & Certification
- Ensure required certifications:
- Bridge Team Management (BTM)
- Leadership & Human Skills (LCHS)
- Type-Specific ECDIS
- Ensure compliance with STCW & company requirements
4. Communication & Coordination
- Acknowledge Masters’ emails on the same day
- Maintain daily crew tracker with updates
- Coordinate internally for onboarding & deployment
Knowledge & Skills- Understanding of maritime ranks & certifications
- Experience with crewing systems / databases
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Excellent sourcing, communication & coordination
- Strong attention to detail and multitasking ability
