Must Have
Experience 5 - 7 years
- Battery Chemical Sourcing knowledge (mandatory).
- Technical background: B.Tech / M.Tech.
- Relevant streams: Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, Electrochemistry, EV & Battery Technology.
- Functional skills: Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to assess vendor manufacturing capabilities for chemical synthesis, purification, and packaging.
- Understanding of particle size distribution, purity specs, surface area (BET), and trace impurity levels.
- Knowledge of REACH, RoHS, TSCA, GHS/CLP, and DG shipping requirements.
- Strong cost analysis capability - evaluating supplier quotes vs. market benchmarks.
- Skilled in price negotiations while ensuring adherence to technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Collaboration
- Manufacturing / QA / Procurement - Inventory optimization & quality audits
- R&D - Alternate source development & technical validation
- SHE / Legal - Compliance audits & MSDS validation
- Finance - Vendor payments & LC establishment
External Coordination
- Supplier audits & process capability evaluation
- Cost negotiation & sample approval
- Packaging consultation for moisture-sensitive materials
- Hazardous goods transportation coordination
- Regulatory approvals for storage & shipment
Experience
- 5-10 years in vendor development, raw material procurement, or chemical sourcing
Functional & Technical Skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong understanding of chemical synthesis, purification, and packaging processes
- Knowledge of:
- Particle size distribution
- BET surface area analysis
- Purity specifications & trace impurity levels
- Regulatory expertise in REACH, RoHS, TSCA, DG shipping
- Strong cost analysis & supplier negotiation capability
- Ability to assess manufacturing capabilities and process controls
