💼 Role: Manager – Sourcing (New Part Development)

🌟 Role Overview
We are looking for a highly driven Sourcing Manager to lead strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier development, and procurement excellence aligned with Venttup’s mission.
This role is critical in building strong supplier ecosystems, driving localisation programs, and enabling new product development (NPD) across multiple industries.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end sourcing and procurement operations including RFQs, techno-commercial evaluations, negotiations, and purchase order execution
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard high-quality manufacturing partners across India
- Drive strategic sourcing initiatives for new part development, including:
- Prototype development
- Testing & validation
- Scale-up to mass production
- Establish long-term partnerships, frame agreements, and JV collaborations for critical component development
- Negotiate contracts and ensure cost optimization, quality, and delivery performance
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and program teams across sectors like Renewable Energy, Defence, Aerospace, and Mobility
- Monitor sourcing KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
🛠️ Qualifications & Skills
- 5–8 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, and new part development (NPD), preferably in B2B manufacturing
- Strong exposure to manufacturing processes such as:
- Casting, machining, sheet metal, forging, extrusions
- Precision components & electro-mechanical assemblies
- Special purpose machines (SPM) and electrical components
- Deep understanding of:
- Supplier development & vendor localisation
- Engineering drawings and product development lifecycle
- Global sourcing and cost optimization strategies
- Proven experience in supplier negotiations, contract management, and strategic partnerships
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
- Knowledge of sustainable sourcing practices is an added advantage
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field
