Role Description
This is a part-time remote role for a SOP Writer specializing in overseas education. The SOP Writer will be responsible for drafting, refining, and tailoring Statements of Purpose (SOPs) for students applying to educational institutions abroad. The position involves conducting detailed research on academic programs, institutions, and countries, understanding student goals, crafting impactful narratives, editing documents, and adhering to client-specific requirements while managing deadlines. Collaborative interaction with students may also be required to ensure all key achievements, aspirations, and relevant experiences are effectively highlighted.
A MUST HAVE ARE:
- Draft, review, and edit SOPs, LORs, essays, and personal statements tailored to each student’s profile and university requirements.
- Research programs, universities, and admission guidelines to ensure accurate content.
- Collaborate with counsellors and students to gather essential details and highlight achievements effectively.
- Ensure documents meet high standards of grammar, clarity, and originality.
- Maintain confidentiality and ethical writing practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in academic writing, content writing, or SOP drafting for overseas education.
- Strong writing, editing, and research skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with international education systems (USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Europe, etc.) preferred.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in SOP Writing and crafting personalized, impactful narratives
- Strong skills in Research, Writing, and Editing to ensure accuracy and quality
- Attention to detail with strong Proofreading capabilities for error-free content
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with students
- Ability to work under deadlines while maintaining high-quality output
- Background in education consulting or counseling would be an advantage
- Understanding of global educational systems, programs, and application processes is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Education, or a related field
