About The Opportunity
The Solutions Architect Principal at Dayforce is a senior technical leader responsible for designing scalable, end-to-end enterprise solutions across the Dayforce HCM platform, while also leading the development of agentic AI systems and enterprise copilots.
This Role Operates At The Intersection Of
- HCM domain (Tax & Payments, HR, Payroll, WFM)
- Enterprise architecture & integrations
- Agent orchestration frameworks
- LLM-powered systems (Copilot, Claude, etc.)
- Autonomous and human-in-the-loop workflows
You act as a strategic advisor to customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring solutions are scalable, compliant, and aligned with product direction.
What You’ll Get To Do
- Design and deliver end-to-end HCM solutions (Tax & Payments, Core HR, Payroll, WFM, Benefits) using modern architectures and technologies
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable architectures leveraging microservices, micro-frontends, domain-driven design, event-driven architecture, and CQRS
- Build and optimize cloud-native systems using Docker, Kubernetes, containerization, and CI/CD automation
- Define robust data models, process flows, and enterprise-grade integration patterns
- Partner with Product, UX Design, Implementation teams, and business stakeholders; lead architecture workshops and act as a trusted advisor to enterprise customers
- Architect integrations across ERP, finance, and third-party systems using APIs, middleware, and ETL frameworks, ensuring data integrity and security
- Align solutions with Dayforce platform capabilities and roadmap while influencing product enhancements and best practices
- Design for high scalability, performance, and compliance, supporting global payroll processing and regulatory requirements
- Establish architecture governance, standards, and data governance models; lead design reviews across programs
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship while driving AI-native innovation through agentic workflows, autonomous systems, and human-in-the-loop automation
- Work closely with other Dayforce architects to align architecture solutions with desired future state architecture.
- Work closely with Engineering leaders to facilitate the architecture solution adoption.
Skills And Experience We Value
- Experience: 12+ years with mandatory 5+ years of Architect experience
- Should have experience in productionizing enterprise solutions architecture, with a proven track record of delivering large-scale implementations on HCM platforms such as Dayforce, Workday, SAP, or Oracle.
- Deep expertise in HCM domains including Payroll (US), Workforce Management, and HRIS systems
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, compliance, and data governance in enterprise environments
- Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF
- Proficiency in API design, microservices architecture, micro frontend architecture and modern integration patterns
- Hands-on experience with middleware platforms like Azure Integration Services
- Solid understanding of SaaS architectures, including multi-tenant platform design
- Experience working within the Azure ecosystem, including data pipelines and cloud services
- Strong data engineering fundamentals including data modeling, transformation, and analytics integration
- Experience integrating with BI/reporting tools to enable enterprise insights and decision-making
- Design and implement agentic AI systems using patterns such as ReAct, Plan-and-Execute, and reflection loops
- Build and orchestrate multi-agent systems with seamless tool integration and execution capabilities
- Leverage LLM ecosystems including Microsoft Copilot, Semantic Kernel, Anthropic Claude, and OpenAI/Gemini APIs
- Apply advanced prompt engineering techniques and enable structured outputs for reliable system behavior
- Develop and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines for enterprise knowledge access
- Work with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS) and design scalable memory systems (session and persistent)
- Architect event-driven and asynchronous workflows enabling multi-step autonomous processes with human-in-the-loop controls

- Implement LLMOps/MLOps practices including prompt/version management, evaluation frameworks, and A/B testing
- Monitor and optimize AI systems for latency, cost efficiency, output quality, and decision observability
- Establish governance frameworks addressing hallucination mitigation, prompt injection risks, data privacy, and AI evaluation
