About the role
We're looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to take ownership of our Web2 backend systems running on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You'll join a rapidly growing DeFi protocol with a strong technical team and a focus on automation, reliability, and scalable secure architecture.
You'll lead and mentor a small team of backend engineers while still being hands-on 60–70% of the time, helping design and build robust cloud-native systems, CI/CD pipelines, and core backend services that interact with blockchain components - Solana.
What You'll Be Doing
• Architect and build backend services and APIs, primarily in TypeScript, Go, or Python.
• Design scalable, secure systems using GCP-native services like Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Firestore, Cloud SQL, Cloud Functions, Secret Manager, etc.
• Develop our DevOps and Cloud Strategy
• Build and evolve Terraform-based infrastructure as code to support backend, DevOps, and blockchain-integrated workflows.
• Create and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Drive infrastructure reliability, observability, and automation.
• Collaborate with Web3 and smart contract teams to integrate on-chain and off-chain components.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers, provide code reviews, and elevate architectural discussions.
• Proactively identify issues, ask the right questions, and propose thoughtful, high-level and low-level design solutions.
• Help shape and evolve our DevOps and security posture, including deployment strategies, access control, and production readiness.
