Role Overview
We are looking for a SolidWorks Designer with experience in metal fabrication. The person will be responsible for preparing 3D models, fabrication drawings, and production ready drawings for metal components, structures, frames, and assemblies.
The role needs good knowledge of sheet metal, MS, SS, bending, welding, cutting, and fabrication detailing.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks
* Create drawings for sheet metal parts, frames, brackets, panels, and assemblies
* Prepare fabrication drawings with dimensions, bending details, hole details, welding details, and fixing points
* Make drawings for laser cutting, CNC bending, drilling, welding, and assembly
* Mention material, thickness, finish, and fabrication details clearly
* Prepare BOM and cut list wherever required
* Coordinate with production and fabrication teams for drawing clarity
* Revise drawings as per production feedback or site requirements
* Maintain proper drawing records and version control
* Ensure drawings are accurate and practical for manufacturing
Required Skills & Experience
* 2 to 4 years of experience in SolidWorks design
* Experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing industry
* Strong knowledge of SolidWorks 3D modelling and 2D detailing
* Good understanding of sheet metal, welding, bending, and cutting process
* Knowledge of MS, SS, aluminium, brass, and metal finishes
* Ability to read sketches, measurements, and design references
* Good attention to detail and dimension accuracy
* Basic AutoCAD knowledge will be an added advantage
Preferred Background
* Diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication, Product Design, or related field
* Experience in metal furniture, architectural metal work, or fabrication units
* Knowledge of laser cutting, CNC bending, powder coating, and polishing process
