Role Description
The Solar Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. This role involves installing, commissioning, and maintaining solar power systems for various types of clients, ensuring safe and efficient operation. Day-to-day tasks include site assessments, mechanical and electrical installation of solar equipment, system testing, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting technical issues. The Solar Technician will work closely with project engineers and other team members to support project execution, follow safety protocols, and provide basic guidance to clients on system use and care.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of solar systems and components, including Solar Systems and Solar Power.
- Understanding of the Solar Industry and Power Generation principles relevant to photovoltaic installations.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues in solar installations, including effective Troubleshooting skills.
- Basic to intermediate electrical and mechanical skills, with the ability to read technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with on-site installation, commissioning, and maintenance of solar or related energy systems is preferred.
- Commitment to safety practices, ability to work at heights and outdoors, and physical capability to handle tools and equipment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and clients.
- Relevant technical diploma or degree in electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy engineering is beneficial.
- Prior experience in solar projects or internships in renewable energy will be an added advantage.
