Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Solar Structure AutoCAD Designer / Solar MMS Designer based in Dadri, Gautam Buddha Nagar. The role involves preparing detailed structural and MMS (Module Mounting Structure) drawings for rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects using AutoCAD and related design tools. The designer will interpret architectural and construction drawings, perform space planning for module layouts, and coordinate with engineering and project teams to ensure designs meet technical, safety, and regulatory standards. Daily responsibilities include updating drawings as per client and site requirements, supporting fabrication and installation teams with clear documentation, and maintaining drawing records and revision logs. The role also requires effective communication with internal stakeholders to resolve design issues and optimize project timelines.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Solar Structure AutoCAD Designer to design and detail Module Mounting Structures (MMS) for Rooftop and Ground-mounted Solar projects. You will be responsible for creating accurate 2D/3D drawings, fabrication drawings, and BoM for solar structures as per site conditions and structural inputs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design & Drafting:
• Prepare GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and detailed drawings for Fixed Tilt, Seasonal Tilt, and Rooftop MMS. •
- Create layout drawings for solar modules as per shadow analysis, capacity, and site constraints.
• Prepare foundation layout drawings (pile foundation, ballast, pedestal).
2. Technical Coordination:
• Coordinate with Civil / Structural team for STAAD.Pro inputs, load calculations.
• Review site survey data, contour survey, geotechnical reports and prepare drawings accordingly. • Work as per IS codes, MBMA, and client specifications.
3. Documentation & Estimation:
• Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for MMS. • Prepare as-built drawings and revision control. • Optimize structure design for weight and cost reduction. • Ensure all drawings meet quality standards and approval process.
Required Skills & Software:
Must Have: AutoCAD 2D & 3D, Excel • Highly Preferred: STAAD.Pro, SketchUp, SolidWorks / Inventor / Tekla Structures, PVsyst (basic understanding for layout)
Strong knowledge of MMS types: Ground Mount, Rooftop - Shed, Trapezoidal, RCC Roof, Carport.
Knowledge of steel structures, section properties (C-Channel, Z-Purlin, Tubular, ISMB), and fasteners.
Knowledge of welding symbols, thickness, tolerances. • Ability to read and understand structural drawings.
Qualifications:
• Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Civil / Structural Engineering
• 2+ years of experience in Solar Structure Design is mandatory.
EPC experience preferred.
On Site Survey as and when required.
Communicate with client, gather information and prepare design with information received from client.
Candidates should possess strong skills in Architectural Drawings and Construction Drawings for solar or structural projects.
Candidates should possess solid Drawing and Space Planning skills for efficient solar module layout and structure design.
Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for coordination with engineering, project, and site teams.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and basic 3D) and familiarity with structural design standards for solar MMS.
Understanding of load calculations, basic structural concepts, and relevant codes or guidelines for solar installations.
Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, site surveys, and vendor drawings, with strong attention to detail.
Capability to work on multiple projects, meet deadlines, and collaborate in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
