Role Description The Solar Proposal Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Dehradun. This role involves preparing accurate and competitive solar sales proposals, including system layouts, energy production estimates, and supporting documentation for residential and commercial projects. The engineer will develop PV system designs in line with AHJ, NEC, fire, building, and utility codes, and coordinate with internal teams and clients to clarify design requirements and resolve technical issues. Day-to-day tasks include creating permit plan sets, interconnection drawings, and as-built documentation, as well as reviewing project inputs for completeness, performing quality checks, and updating designs based on feedback. The role also requires maintaining up-to-date knowledge of solar industry standards, optimizing designs for performance and cost, and meeting strict turnaround timelines.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of the solar industry and solar power concepts, with practical exposure to solar project workflows.
- Hands-on experience with Aurora solar is a must.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical, renewable energy, or related discipline) or equivalent technical qualification.
- Proficiency with solar design and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, PV design software), and comfort working with technical drawings.
- Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to deliver accurate work within tight deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients.
- Prior experience in solar proposal preparation is an advantage.
