A Solar Project Engineer is responsible for designing, managing, and seamlessly executing solar energy projects from concept to commissioning, ensuring compliance with technical standards, safety regulations, and budgetary goals. This role blends engineering expertise with project management to deliver efficient, sustainable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities
· Project Lifecycle Management: Oversee projects from initial design through installation and commissioning.
· System Design: Develop efficient photovoltaic (PV) systems tailored to site conditions.
· Site Assessments: Conduct feasibility studies to determine optimal panel placement and orientation.
· Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with civil, electrical, and mechanical engineers to integrate solar systems into infrastructure.
· Budget & Scheduling: Prepare detailed project plans, manage resources, and ensure cost-effective execution.
· Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to local laws, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
· Procurement Support & Vendor Coordination: Source equipment, liaise with suppliers, and oversee quality assurance. Assist in sourcing equipment and coordinating delivery schedules.
· Performance Analysis: Use simulation software (e.g., PVsyst) to optimize energy yield.
· Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
· Project Scheduling: Develop and monitor project timelines to ensure milestones are met.
· Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the central point of contact between engineers, contractors, suppliers, and clients.
· Documentation Management: Maintain accurate records of project progress, permits, and compliance reports.
· Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to MNRE guidelines, DISCOM approvals, and safety standards.
· Risk Mitigation: Identify potential delays or issues and implement corrective measures.
· Quality Assurance: Monitor installation activities to ensure alignment with design specifications.
· Reporting: Provide regular updates to management and clients on project status.
Required Skills
· Photovoltaic Technology expertise
· Project Management proficiency
· Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Project, PVsyst.
· Familiarity with IS standards and electrical codes
· Strong project management and organizational skills
· Knowledge of solar PV systems and installation processes
· Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
· Understanding of local regulatory frameworks (MNRE, DISCOM)
