Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Solar Electrician role based in Mumbai. The Solar Electrician will install, test, and commission solar power systems, including panels, inverters, wiring, and related electrical components. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting electrical and solar system diagrams, performing routine and preventive maintenance, and diagnosing and resolving electrical and system issues. The role involves working with tools and test equipment, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards, and documenting work performed and system performance. The Solar Electrician will collaborate with project engineers, site supervisors, and other technicians to complete installations on schedule and support ongoing customer service.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in electricity principles and basic electrical engineering concepts relevant to solar systems.
- Hands-on experience in electrical work, including wiring, panel board connections, and installation of electrical components.
- Skills in maintenance & repair of solar and general electrical equipment, with a focus on system reliability and safety.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical faults, diagnosing issues in solar installations, and using test instruments effectively.
- Relevant technical certification or diploma in electrical engineering or a related field; licensed electrician status is an advantage.
- Knowledge of local electrical codes, safety regulations, and best practices for rooftop and ground-mounted solar installations.
- Ability to work at heights, in outdoor conditions, and with appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Good communication skills, ability to follow technical instructions, and capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in solar installation or renewable energy projects is highly desirable.
