Job details:
Solar Electrical Design & Procurement Engineer:
At Avion Green Astra, we don't just build solar plants; we engineer high-performance assets. We are looking for a Solar Electrical Design & Procurement Engineer who acts as the technical and commercial bridge of our projects.
This is not a "back-office" CAD role. You will be responsible for the entire technical lifecycle of a project—from the first SLD to the final material delivery. Your goal is simple but challenging: Design for performance, and procure for profit. You must understand how a design choice impacts the bottom line and how a procurement delay impacts the project timeline.
Core Responsibilities
1. Integrated Engineering & Design
- System Architecture: Design rooftop and ground-mount PV systems that maximize ROI for C&I clients.
- Technical Drafting: Own the preparation of Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), string layouts, and cable schedules.
- Optimization: You are expected to optimize for "Material Efficiency." Don't just follow a template; reduce cable losses, optimize earthing layouts, and minimize structure weight without sacrificing safety.
- Simulation: Use PVsyst and Helioscope to provide accurate generation estimates that we can stand behind during client handovers.
2. Strategic Procurement & BOQ Management
- Dynamic BOQ: Prepare and own the Bill of Quantities. You are responsible for ensuring the BOQ matches the site reality.
- Technical Sourcing: Lead the procurement of high-value components (Modules, Inverters) and BOS (Cables, Structures, Earthing).
- Vendor Intelligence: Move beyond just "getting quotes." Build a robust vendor database, negotiate terms that protect the company, and ensure all materials meet IEC and CEIG standards.
- Commercial Parity: Perform rigorous technical-commercial evaluations to ensure we aren't just buying the cheapest material, but the right material for the project's life.
3. Execution & Compliance Support
- Statutory Design: Prepare all technical documentation required for DISCOM approvals, CEIG inspections, and Net Metering.
- Site Liaison: Act as the "Remote Lead" for site engineers. Solve technical bottlenecks during installation and provide "As-Built" drawings that reflect the finished project.
- Supply Chain Tracking: Coordinate logistics to ensure that a project never stops because a DC cable or a nut-and-bolt didn't arrive on time.
Who You Are
- The Technical Expert: You have a B.Tech/BE in Electrical Engineering and 2 to 6 years of hardcore Solar EPC experience.
- The Hybrid Mindset: You enjoy the precision of AutoCAD and PVsyst, but you also have the "hustle" required to negotiate with vendors and manage budgets.
- The Problem Solver: You understand DISCOM regulations and local safety norms. When a design doesn't fit the site, you find a way to make it work efficiently.
- The Finisher: You don't just "release" a drawing; you follow it until the material is installed and the plant is commissioned.
Tools You Master
- Design: AutoCAD (Expert), PVsyst, Helioscope.
- Analysis: MS Excel (for complex cost comparisons and loss calculations).
- Regulatory: Deep understanding of IEC standards and Indian DISCOM/CEIG protocols.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- BOQ Accuracy: Zero "missing items" or "surplus waste" at the end of a project.
- Cost Savings: Achieving a specific percentage reduction in procurement costs through smart design and negotiation.
- Timeline Adherence: On-time delivery of all materials to the site.
- Generation Yield: Actual plant performance vs. your PVsyst projections.
