Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Soil Analyst located in Phaltan. The Soil Analyst will be responsible for conducting soil sample collection, analysis, and interpretation to determine soil health and fertility. Daily tasks include performing lab-based tests, preparing soil reports, assisting in the development of soil improvement recommendations, and maintaining accurate records of analysis. The role will also involve coordinating with farmers and agribusiness stakeholders to provide recommendations on appropriate soil conditioners and crop management practices that align with sustainable farming principles.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in soil collection and analytical techniques, such as physical, chemical, and biological analysis of soil.
- Knowledge of soil nutrients, textures, and fertility assessment.
- Strong data interpretation and reporting skills, with experience in documenting test results and presenting recommendations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with farmers and agribusiness clients.
- Familiarity with organic farming practices and soil management techniques is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Phaltan and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Soil Science, Agronomy, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Previous experience in soil analysis or related agricultural roles is preferred.
