About the Role
Retrace Labs is focused on building practical learning experiences across cybersecurity domains. As a Software Testing Intern, you will contribute to defining testing workflows, validating application behavior, and identifying gaps across different system layers. This role combines analytical thinking with structured validation approaches to ensure product quality. Your work will directly influence the stability and usability of real-world applications.
Key Responsibilities
- You will design and execute structured testing workflows across different application layers.
- You will identify, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps and expected outcomes.
- You will validate application behavior against defined requirements and expected user flows.
- You will contribute to creating reusable test scenarios and organized test coverage paths.
- You will collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolutionand validation of issues.
- You will participate in regression validation to maintain consistency across releases.
- You will contribute to improving testing processes and overall quality standards.
Required Skills
- Understanding of software testing concepts, including functional and regression testing.Familiarity with application workflows and how systems behave under different conditions.
- Basic knowledge of testing approaches across web-based applications.
- Ability to write clear, structured, and reproducible test cases and reports.
- Attention to detail with a strong analytical mindset.Basic understanding of how software defects are identified and validated.
Good to Have
- Exposure to structured testing workflows or quality assurance practices.
- Familiarity with automation concepts or testing tools such as Selenium or similar frameworks.
- Basic understanding of APIs and backend validation approaches.
- Awareness of software development lifecycle and release processes.
- Interest in improving product quality through systematic validation.
Qualifications
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in software testing are a plus but not mandatory.
- Hands-on practice through projects, internships, or self-learning is highly valued.
