DESCRIPTION:
Join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Software Test Engineer II and contribute to ensuring the quality and reliability of our advanced software solutions. You'll work on sophisticated applications that control our analytical instruments, including mass spectrometers, electron microscopes, and other advanced scientific equipment. As part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team, you'll work with developers, scientists, and stakeholders to validate software that enables groundbreaking research and innovation. Your work will directly impact scientific discoveries in fields like cancer research, drug development, and semiconductor manufacturing.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Design, execute, and document validation and verification activities for flow cytometry and imaging software platforms.
- Develop biologically relevant test cases simulating real-world applications (immunophenotyping, cell imaging, localization studies).
- Perform flow cytometry experiments, including:
- Multicolor panel design
- Fluorescence compensation
- Spectral unmixing
- Conduct microscopy/imaging assays:
- Immunofluorescence (IF), ICC, IHC
- Image acquisition and analysis
- Translate experimental workflows into software validation scenarios, ensuring:
- Accuracy of analysis algorithms
- Usability and workflow efficiency
- Participate in Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC):
- Test planning and strategy
- Test case development
- Execution and defect reporting
- Use tools like JIRA/TestRail for defect tracking and test management.
- Collaborate with R&D, Product Owners, and Software teams to validate new features and enhancements.
- Troubleshoot issues across biological assays, instrumentation, and software layers.
- Ensure compliance with data integrity, audit, and regulatory standards (ISO, GLP, 21 CFR Part 11).
- Maintain detailed validation documentation and reports.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and automation in validation workflows.
