Software Testing Engineer (QA Engineer)

At Urbanites Technologies, we build innovative software solutions, web applications, and digital products for clients across various industries. We are looking for a detail-oriented Software Testing Engineer who is passionate about quality assurance and delivering exceptional user experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze project requirements and functional specifications.
- Create, review, and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test plans.
- Perform Manual Testing for web and mobile applications.
- Conduct Functional, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, UI, and Cross-Browser Testing.
- Identify, document, track, and verify software defects.
- Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers.
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman.
- Validate bug fixes and ensure high-quality software releases.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and QA activities.
- Maintain testing documentation and reports.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Hands-on experience in Manual Testing.
- Good knowledge of Test Case Design Techniques.
- Understanding of Defect/Bug Life Cycle.
- Basic SQL knowledge for database validation.
- Experience with bug-tracking tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with API Testing concepts.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to Automation Testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Experience in Mobile Application Testing.
- Knowledge of Agile methodology and Scrum framework.
- Understanding of CI/CD processes.
- ISTQB Certification (preferred but not mandatory).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in Software Testing / Quality Assurance.
- Freshers with strong testing knowledge and relevant project experience may also apply.
