Job Title - Software Release & Diagnostic Tools Test Engineer
Role Summary
This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing software releases while also designing and performing testing activities for diagnostic tools and related software. The role ensures high-quality, timely, and compliant releases by combining strong release governance with hands-on validation of diagnostic applications used in embedded and automotive systems.
Key Responsibilities
Software Release Management (≈50%)
- Coordinate and communicate release and change processes with platforms and key stakeholders (PSEs).
- Collect, validate, and transform platform inputs into customer-ready release deliverables
- Define and manage release calendars, milestones, and emergency releases (hotfixes/patches).
- Own release documentation and change communication, driving continuous improvement through automation and metrics.
Diagnostic Tools Testing & Validation (≈50%)
- Design and execute test plans and test cases for diagnostic tools and applications.
- Perform bench-level testing of diagnostic tools with ECUs and associated hardware.
- Execute manual and automated diagnostics, including controller programming, parameter configuration, and fault handling.
- Analyse diagnostic data, logs, and communication traces to identify software or hardware issues; exposure to Python/CAPL for automation is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of testing experience with bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
