Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Software Test Engineer role based in Bengaluru. The Software Test Engineer will design, write, and maintain test cases for web and backend applications, ensuring coverage of functional, regression, integration, and performance scenarios. Responsibilities include executing manual and automated tests, analyzing test results, documenting defects clearly, and collaborating with software developers and product stakeholders to resolve issues. The role involves participating in requirement reviews, refining acceptance criteria, and contributing to test strategies and test plans for new features and releases. The Software Test Engineer will also help improve testing processes, adopt appropriate tools and frameworks, and support continuous integration and delivery practices in a quality-focused environment.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Software Testing and Testing methodologies, including functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
- Hands-on experience in Test Execution and working with well-defined Test Cases to validate software quality.
- Familiarity with Software Development lifecycles and collaboration with engineering teams in agile or iterative environments.
- Experience or interest in test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Python-based automation) is highly beneficial.
- Ability to write clear defect reports, testing documentation, and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a problem-solving mindset with a focus on product quality and user experience.
- Familiarity with version control, CI/CD pipelines, and issue tracking tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Jira) is a plus.
