What Is the Role?
We are looking for a Software Test Engineer with 1–3 years of experience to join our technology team at Book An Artist. The role involves ensuring the quality, functionality, reliability, and usability of our web and mobile applications.
You will collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle to validate new features, identify defects, and support reliable product releases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse requirements and prepare test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end testing.
- Test web and mobile applications across relevant platforms and devices.
- Validate user journeys involving artist discovery, profiles, enquiries, bookings, orders, payments, and related workflows.
- Identify, document, track, and retest defects using Jira or equivalent tools.
- Perform API testing and basic SQL/database validation.
- Develop, execute, and maintain automated test cases for suitable scenarios.
- Participate in sprint testing, release validation, and Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
- Collaborate with development and product teams to investigate and resolve defects.
- Maintain test documentation, communicate testing progress and risks, and contribute to improving test coverage and overall product quality.
Skills and Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in Software Testing / Quality Assurance.
- Strong understanding of software testing concepts, SDLC, and STLC.
- Hands-on experience with manual testing, test case design, functional testing, and regression testing.
- Experience with defect tracking tools, preferably Jira or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of API testing and tools such as Postman.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL and database validation.
- Exposure to test automation using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, or a similar framework.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and attention to detail.
