The Challenge You'll Own
AlmaShines is a high-scale SaaS product with 2,000+ B2B clients, over 50 lakh end users, and 3-5 lakh monthly active users. We operate in a fast-paced agile environment, shipping updates continuously. In this world, quality is not optional.
Every feature, every button, every workflow must work flawlessly and feel right. As our QA Engineer, you will be the last line of defense between our code and our users, ensuring everything we ship meets the highest bar of functionality, reliability, and user experience.
Role Overview
We are looking for a sharp, detail-obsessed QA Engineer who blends strong manual testing instincts with modern automation skills.
You'll work closely with product managers, developers, designers and customer success teams to catch issues before they reach users and build systems that catch them automatically over time. If you've been exploring how AI is reshaping software testing, you'll fit right in here.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manual Testing
- Design & run detailed test cases for new features, bug fixes, and regression scenarios.
- Perform testing to uncover edge cases and UX inconsistencies that scripted tests miss.
- Validate UI, functional, and integration behaviour across web and mobile platforms.
- Reproduce, document, and track bugs with clear reproduction steps and severity assessments.
- Collaborate with developers to understand feature logic and ensure end-to-end coverage.
2. Automation Testing
- Build and maintain automated test suites for critical workflows and regression coverage.
- Design automation frameworks that are stable, scalable, and easy for the team to extend.
- Monitor test results, analyse failures, and keep tests up to date as the product evolves.
3. AI-Augmented QA
- Explore and integrate AI-powered testing tools for test case generation, smart regression selection, and visual testing.
- Stay current with emerging QA tools, techniques, and best practices in the fast-evolving AI testing landscape.
- Propose and pilot new approaches that increase test efficiency and coverage without proportional effort growth.
4. Quality Ownership
- Participate actively in sprint planning, story reviews, and release sign-offs.
- Maintain up-to-date test documentation, test plans, and bug tracking records.
- Work with product and customer success teams to triage and prioritise quality issues based on user impact.
- Contribute to defining and improving QA processes, standards, and best practices across the team.
What We're Looking For
Must-Have
- 1-3 years of hands-on QA experience
- Solid manual testing skills: test case design, exploratory testing, and defect management.
- Practical experience with at least one automation tool or framework (e.g. Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium).
- Exposure to agile development processes and working within sprint cycles.
- Strong attention to detail and clear communication skills to document and articulate issues effectively.
Good to Have
- Hands-on experience with AI-powered QA tools (e.g. Testim, Mabl, Applitools, or similar).
- Knowledge of performance testing concepts (load, stress, scalability).
- Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman or REST Assured.
- Basic programming knowledge in Python, Java, or JavaScript to support automation work.
