Role Description
We are seeking a technically skilled Quality Engineering & Testing Engineer to join our growing medical device company. The ideal candidate combines strong software testing expertise with technical knowledge of APIs, integrations, cloud-hosted applications, and modern software delivery practices.
The primary objective of this role is to ensure software changes are thoroughly validated before release. This position is responsible for test planning, test execution, regression testing, integration validation, release readiness verification, and quality process improvement across enterprise integration solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Engineering and Testing
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test strategies, test cases, and test scenarios.
- Validate functionality, integrations, APIs, data flows, event-driven processes, and business workflows.
- Execute regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing activities.
- Verify application behavior across multiple environments, including QA, Stage, and Pre-Production.
- Perform root-cause analysis for defects and coordinate resolution activities with development teams.
- Document defects, testing evidence, validation results, and release recommendations.
Integration Validation
- Validate API requests and responses using modern testing tools.
- Verify messaging, event processing, data mapping, and end-to-end integration workflows.
- Perform database validation and data reconciliation testing.
- Support testing of cloud-native and distributed applications.
- Validate feature flag implementations and deployment configurations.
Release Readiness & Quality Governance
- Assess release readiness based on testing evidence and quality metrics.
- Participate in deployment validation and post-deployment verification activities.
- Maintain documentation for testing procedures and quality standards.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, stakeholders, and platform teams to improve software quality.
- Promote quality engineering best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
Automation & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to automate regression and integration testing.
- Contribute to automated testing frameworks and CI/CD validation pipelines.
- Assist with testing process improvements and quality metrics reporting.
- Support organizational adoption of TDD and quality-first engineering practices.
Skill Requirements
Primary Skills (Must Have)
- Software Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering experience.
- Experience testing APIs, web services, and enterprise integrations.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies.
- Experience designing test cases, test plans, and regression suites.
- Ability to review requirements and identify quality risks early.
- Test automation experience using modern automation frameworks.
- Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman.
- Understanding of databases, data validation, and integration testing.
- Experience troubleshooting using logs, dashboards, monitoring tools, and observability platforms.
- Strong defect management, documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Secondary Skills (Good To Have)
- Experience with Grafana and monitoring platforms.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, or Azure environments.
- Understanding of event-driven architectures and messaging platforms.
- Experience supporting CI/CD quality gates and automated validation processes.
- Knowledge of TDD, BDD, and acceptance testing methodologies.
Qualifications And Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of software quality assurance, testing, or quality engineering experience.
Experience testing enterprise applications, APIs, and integration solutions.
