Engineering Manager – Home Digital Commerce (GCC)
Location: Global Capability Center (India)

Role Summary:
The Engineering Manager for Home Digital Commerce is responsible for leading one or more software engineering teams within Ferguson’s Global Capability Center (GCC). This role is accountable for people leadership, delivery execution, and technical excellence in support of Ferguson Home’s digital commerce platforms, including customer-facing experiences, order flows, and supporting services. The role is normalized for parity with U.S.-based Engineering Manager positions, with equivalent expectations for delivery, people leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
People Leadership:
- Lead, coach, and develop engineers through regular feedback, performance management, and career development planning.
- Build an inclusive, high-performing engineering culture aligned to Ferguson values and engineering standards.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and retention of GCC engineering talent in partnership with HR and GCC leadership.
Delivery & Execution:
- Own delivery outcomes for assigned Home Digital Commerce initiatives, ensuring commitments are met with high quality and predictability.
- Plan team capacity, manage priorities, and remove execution blockers.
- Partner closely with U.S.-based Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and Technical Leads to align on scope, timelines, and dependencies.
Technical & Quality Leadership:
- Uphold engineering best practices including code quality, testing, documentation, and operational readiness.
- Ensure solutions align to Ferguson architecture, security, and SDLC standards.
- Act as an escalation point for technical, quality, and production issues.
Cross Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, DevOps, Platform, and Architecture partners across regions.
- Support blended U.S./GCC delivery models and the evolution toward mature, autonomous GCC squads.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership team to ensure DevOps structure optimizes quality and deployment throughput.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Prior experience managing software engineering teams delivering customer-facing or commerce platforms.
- Strong people management skills with demonstrated experience coaching and developing engineers.
- Solid understanding of modern software development practices, cloud-native architectures, and enterprise systems.
- Experience working in distributed or global delivery models.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across time zones.
