Build software that runs inside real hospitals.
zMed is a healthcare technology platform live in hospitals today — powering ICUs, operating rooms, and wards with real-time vitals from bedside monitors and ventilators, clinical charting, AI-assisted documentation, and more. Our stack is modern SaaS: a FHIR R4 clinical data engine, multi-tenant web architecture, micro-frontends, and an AI-native way of building software.
One team, many spikes
We're not hiring clones. We're assembling a team of complementary strengths. Every hire brings one clear spike — tell us which one is yours:
- Product Builder — you love taking an idea from concept → design → build → a clinician actually using it at a bedside. You'll own modules end to end: UI, APIs, data.
- Clinical Builder — you come from nursing, clinical pharmacy, biomedical engineering, or hospital operations, and you want to build the software you always wished you had. You'll specify workflows, build product with AI-assisted tools, run validation with clinicians, and own clinical support.
- Platform Builder — you're drawn to infrastructure: containers, deployments, networking, keeping production healthy. You'll learn our deployment platform and Docker Swarm, grow into Kubernetes for hospital deployments, and keep live clinical systems running.
You don't need all three. You need one, done well, plus the will to learn the edges of the others.
Two doors in
You qualify through either of these — you don't need both:
- A software engineering education (CS/IT or equivalent), or
- Healthcare domain experience — nursing, clinical pharmacy, biomedical engineering, hospital operations/IT, or hands-on exposure to clinical workflows
If you bring one, we'll help you build the other.
What everyone shares (non-negotiable)
- A verification mindset — you don't trust code (yours, ours, or AI's) until you've tested it
- Fluency with AI-assisted engineering tools — or genuine excitement to make them your primary way of building
- Clear writing — specs, plans, and prompts are engineering artifacts here
- Integrity — non-negotiable when your software touches patient care
- Mental grit — hospitals run 24×7; you stay sharp under pressure and finish what you start
How we work
AI-first engineering: we build with Claude Code and modern agentic workflows, so a small team ships at unusual speed. Every new hire — every spike, every door — ships a real module to our dev environment in their first week. From there you grow along your spike through hands-on gates: owning a micro-frontend, joining customer support rotation, running validation with clinicians, or making your first supervised production deployment.
Nice to have (not required)
- React / TypeScript / Node.js exposure
- Docker, Linux, or home-lab tinkering (Platform spike)
- Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, or medical devices
- Anything you've built and shipped — side projects count
Work mode
Full-time, work-from-office in Bengaluru. No remote / hybrid. We build together, in one room, close to the problems we're solving. Apply only if you're in Bengaluru or ready to relocate.

One conversation over phone then video meeting over google meet, then a single on-site day: a 2-hour written aptitude test (reasoning, precision, and writing — closed book, no trick trivia), and for those who clear it, a 2-hour hands-on working session matched to your spike, in our office, using our AI-powered development environment — build something small. No leetcode, no take-homes.
