We’re hiring a Senior QA Automation Engineer / SDET to build the quality system for ZTAL, a workflow-heavy, AI-enabled recruitment platform deployed across Azure and AWS. This is not a checkbox QA role. You’ll design and implement the automated test strategy across frontend, backend, APIs, AI features, cloud environments, and release pipelines.
You’ll work closely with product and engineering to turn an increasingly manual and fragile release process into a scalable quality system. That includes browser automation, API regression, performance checks, AI evals, CI gates, and security-aware release testing. You should be comfortable working in a modern AI-assisted engineering workflow using tools like Codex and Claude, while applying strong judgment and verification rather than trusting generated output blindly.
We’re looking for someone who can decide what to automate first, design suites that stay maintainable, and raise engineering quality standards across the team.
Key responsibilities:
- Build and maintain automated regression coverage for critical product workflows
- Design API, integration, E2E, smoke, and release-certification suites
- Add and improve CI quality gates in GitHub Actions
- Drive testing for AI-backed workflows using eval datasets and output validation
- Add performance and reliability checks for critical services
- Partner with engineers to improve testability, observability, and release confidence
- Introduce security-aware QA practices aligned with enterprise expectations
Requirements:
-3+ years in QA automation, SDET, or test engineering
- Strong experience with browser automation such as Playwright
- Strong API testing and automation experience
- Experience with CI/CD and quality gates in GitHub Actions or equivalent
- Strong debugging skills across frontend, backend, and deployed systems
- Ability to design a scalable regression strategy, not just write test cases
- Comfort with AI-assisted engineering workflows and strong verification habits
Preferred:
- Python and TypeScript familiarity
- Experience with workflow-heavy SaaS or enterprise applications
- Experience with k6, security testing, accessibility, and AI evals
- Experience in cloud-deployed environments across Azure and/or AWS
