Job Description
QA Engineer / SDET – Intelligent Warehouse Systems
Experience: 3–5 Years
Role Overview
We are looking for hands-on QA Engineers / SDETs who already understand how warehouse systems operate in the real world and can apply that knowledge to automation, regression, and decision‑driven system testing.
The platform under test controls warehouse workflows, inventory movement, and autonomous (agentic) decision-making. These systems decide and act, often without human intervention, and failures directly impact physical warehouse operations.
This role requires mandatory warehouse domain exposure, strong Python automation, Playwright UI testing, and ownership of regression testing for agentic systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Regression Testing Ownership (Core)
Own end-to-end regression suites for warehouse‑critical flows
Identify and protect non‑negotiable warehouse paths, including:
Order lifecycle
Inventory state transitions
Task creation, assignment, and completion
Ensure regressions catch:
Workflow breakages
Decision‑logic side effects
Downstream operational failures
Maintain reliable, CI‑ready regression suites
2. Warehouse Workflow Validation
Apply warehouse knowledge to validate real flows:
Inbound → Putaway → Replenishment
Picking → Packing → Shipping
Returns and exception handling
Validate correctness of:
Inventory movement
Order and task state transitions
Workflow sequencing
Test under real warehouse conditions:
Order spikes
Partial task failures
Resource and capacity constraints
3. Testing Agentic / Decision‑Driven Systems
Test systems that autonomously make and execute decisions, such as:
Order prioritization
Task assignment and reassignment
Inventory movement and re‑planning
Validate that decisions:
Respect warehouse constraints
Remain consistent and predictable
Recover safely from execution failures
Design scenario‑based tests focusing on:
Decision changes
State transitions
Fallback and recovery paths
Treat decision logic as regression‑critical behavior
4. Python‑Based Automation
Write clean, maintainable automation using Python
Automate:
Backend APIs
Core warehouse workflows
Decision paths and regressions
Build reusable utilities for:
Test data setup
State validation
End‑to‑end scenario verification
Convert high‑impact manual tests into long‑term automation
5. UI Automation with Playwright
Use Playwright to automate critical UI workflows:
Order operations
Inventory dashboards
Warehouse control screens
Include UI tests in regression only for:
High‑risk operator actions
Critical operational visibility
Ensure UI reflects accurate backend and warehouse state
Build stable, non‑flaky Playwright tests
6. Integration & Data Validation
Validate consistency across:
UI
APIs
Database state
Test async and event‑driven behavior
Debug issues using:
Logs
API traces
SQL queries
Report defects in terms of warehouse impact, not just technical failure
Required Skills & Experience
✅ Must Have (Non‑Negotiable)
3–5 years experience in QA / SDET roles
Hands‑on exposure to warehouse systems (WMS, WES, OMS, fulfillment, or logistics platforms)
Strong understanding of warehouse workflows and operational constraints
Experience testing agentic / decision‑driven systems where the system:
Autonomously selects actions
Sequences tasks
Adapts to changing conditions
Strong hands‑on experience with Python
Solid experience using Playwright for UI automation
Proven ownership of regression testing
Ability to reason about flows, states, and failure scenarios in warehouse operations
👍 Good to Have
Experience with distributed or event‑driven systems
Exposure to robotics, automation, or industrial systems
Comfort debugging multi‑service production issues
