Our team creates, develops, and oversees applications supporting Akamai's internal and external web platforms. These applications drive essential business operations and enhance customer experiences. As part of this team, collaborate with stakeholders in business, infrastructure, security, and operations to deliver enterprise solutions. Contribute throughout the application lifecycle, from development to deployment and support, ensuring systems align with evolving business and technology requirements.
As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for:
- Creating, developing, and implementing software functionalities and improvements aligned with both business needs and technical specifications.
- Writing clean, efficient, maintainable code while adhering to best practices and coding standards; participating in software development lifecycle phases.
- Configuring new systems to ensure scalability, performance, operability, and security while optimizing, debugging, and troubleshooting existing systems for improved functionality.
- Ensuring seamless integration and delivery by collaborating with developers, QA, DevOps, and cross-functional teams to optimize new SaaS platforms.
- Contributing to code reviews, documentation, and team knowledge sharing while suggesting updates based on emerging technologies to improve system design.
- Establishing optimal operational and maintenance practices while delivering training sessions to the Operations team for effective implementation.
Do What You Love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Hold expertise in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related field with 3+ experience as a software developer or engineer.
- Demonstrate expertise in software development utilizing Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript, alongside frameworks like Spring Boot or React.
- Demonstrate expertise in OOP principles, APIs, databases, security protocols, version control tools (e.g., Git), Agile methodologies, and CI/CD processes.
- Demonstrate expertise in authentication standards (e.g., SAML, OAuth), Linux/Windows server administration, and monitoring tools like Nagios, Splunk.
- Demonstrate excellent problem-solving, analytical abilities, and effective communication expertise.
