Role Overview
We're hiring an Infrastructure Engineer to manage, harden, and optimize our AWS environment. You'll work closely with backend engineers and product teams to ensure our payment systems are secure, highly available, and compliant with fintech-grade uptime and audit requirements. This is a hands-on role suited to someone early in their career who is eager to take ownership of production infrastructure in a regulated, high-stakes domain.
Key Responsibilities
- Provision, configure, and maintain AWS resources (EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, CloudFront) for payment and accounting workloads.
- Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines for deployments across staging and production environments.
- Monitor system health, uptime, and performance using CloudWatch, and set up alerting for anomalies.
- Manage networking, security groups, IAM roles/policies, VPNs, load balancers, and DNS configurations.
- Handle SSL/TLS certificates, email authentication (SPF/DKIM/DMARC), and domain configurations.
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies for critical payment infrastructure.
- Support security hardening, vulnerability patching, and compliance requirements relevant to RBI-regulated fintech operations.
- Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot production issues, optimize costs, and improve deployment reliability.
- Maintain infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/CloudFormation) and documentation for all environments.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- ~1 year of hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure (internships/projects count if substantial).
- Working knowledge of core AWS services: EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Route 53, CloudWatch.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts — DNS, load balancers, VPNs, firewalls, SSL/TLS.
- Familiarity with Linux server administration and shell scripting.
- Exposure to CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar) and version control (Git).
- Understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration basics (ECS/EKS/Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform/CloudFormation) is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting mindset and willingness to be on-call for critical production issues.
- Bonus: prior exposure to fintech, payments, or PCI-DSS/compliance-driven environments.
