Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Backend Engineer role based in Bengaluru. The Backend Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs that power the vybe cabs platform. Daily responsibilities include implementing new features, optimizing performance, ensuring system reliability, and integrating third-party services such as payment gateways, mapping, and notification systems. The role involves collaborating closely with front-end engineers, mobile developers, product managers, and QA to deliver secure, high-quality releases. The Backend Engineer will also participate in code reviews, improve development workflows, and contribute to architectural decisions that support safety, real-time operations, and future product growth.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Back-End Web Development and general Software Development for building scalable, secure services.
- Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) for designing clean, maintainable codebases.
- Basic understanding of Front-End Development to collaborate effectively with client-side teams.
- Experience with modern backend languages and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Java, Python, Go, or similar) and RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
- Knowledge of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), caching, messaging queues, and microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization (Docker), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
