Primary Responsibility
Develop, enhance, and maintain scalable backend systems using Python and the Django framework, with a strong focus on financial and payments-based applications.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Python Django Developer with proven experience in building and scaling fintech or payments-driven platforms. The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in system design, software architecture, and testing best practices, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications using Python and Django.
- Build robust APIs and backend services to support financial and payment workflows.
- Ensure high code quality through unit testing, integration testing, and active participation in peer code reviews.
- Collaborate closely with Product, DevOps, QA, and Frontend teams to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions.
- Monitor system performance, optimize application efficiency, and troubleshoot production issues.
- Implement and maintain reliable transaction systems including reconciliation, settlements, wallets, UPI integrations, and payment processing workflows.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and promote best practices in system design and development.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience as a Python Django Developer in the IT industry.
- Hands-on experience building payments, financial systems, or FinTech applications.
- Proven expertise in software architecture design within microservices or modular monolith environments.
- Strong proficiency in building and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Solid database experience with:
- SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
- NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis)
- Experience with containerization tools such as Docker.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Strong understanding of performance optimization, scalability, and secure coding practices.
Testing & Development Practices
- Hands-on experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Proficiency with testing frameworks such as:
- pytest
- unittest
- factory_boy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in startup or high-growth environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
