About The Job
We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Data Engineer with strong expertise in cloud-based data platforms and modern data engineering practices. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in building scalable data pipelines, implementing ETL/ELT solutions, and supporting enterprise data warehousing and analytics initiatives.
This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing data solutions to enable business intelligence, reporting, and advanced analytics, particularly within the insurance domain.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming large volumes of structured and semi-structured data.
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT workflows for data lakes, data warehouses, and analytics platforms.
- Implement data solutions across cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and Snowflake.
- Work with domain datasets including policy, claims, underwriting, billing, and third-party data.
- Collaborate with business analysts, data analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy through validation, reconciliation, and monitoring frameworks.
- Optimize performance using partitioning, indexing, and query tuning techniques.
- Implement data governance, metadata management, lineage, and compliance controls.
- Manage data security, access controls, and regulatory compliance in collaboration with platform teams.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production data pipelines to ensure reliability and availability.
- Document data architecture, workflows, and operational procedures.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in data engineering, including data ingestion, processing, and analytics pipelines.
- Experience in leading teams, grooming team members, and motivating them to develop their technical capabilities.
- Strong programming skills in Python/PySpark and SQL.
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools and workflow orchestration.
- Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, and GCP Dataflow.
- Proficiency in working with structured and semi-structured data formats such as CSV, JSON, and Parquet.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modelling.
- Experience with data quality frameworks, validation, and reconciliation techniques.
- Knowledge of metadata management, data lineage, and governance practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and performance optimization skills.
- Experience with real-time or near real-time data processing is a plus.
- Prior experience in the insurance or financial services domain is preferred.
Good To Have
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or AWS Step Functions.
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance practices.
- Experience with cloud-native data engineering and CI/CD practices.
- Experience working with P&C Insurance datasets and business processes.
