Pinegap is building AI agents for Wall Street funds primarily doing fundamental equity investing, including long/short hedge funds, long-only mutual funds, RIAs, and wealth managers.
Before founding Pinegap, co-founder Ankit spent 15 years as an analyst—7 years at J.P. Morgan and the last 8 years at a long/short hedge fund—bringing deep, firsthand domain expertise.
Pinegap raised its initial seed round in 2024 and has since seen strong traction on Wall Street, onboarding hundreds of clients over the past two years. The company recently secured a Series A round and is now entering its next phase of growth, with plans to further expand the team.

What You’ll Do
• Build products from zero to one, taking major features across the full stack from design to launch
• Drive feedback loops with users, founders, and the Customer Success team to rapidly iterate on product direction
• Architect scalable systems, implement robust software components, and ensure reliability and performance
• Write clean, well-tested, production-grade code that is easy to read and maintain
Technical Requirements
• 2–6 years of experience in AI / ML / Backend Engineering
• Strong CS fundamentals (Tier-1 college preferred)
• Experience with backend systems and APIs (e.g., Node.js, Python, or similar)
• Experience with modern web stacks (e.g., TypeScript, React, Next.js, or similar)
• Familiarity with LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, etc.) and with OpenAI, Claude, and Gemini APIs
• Hands-on experience with RAG pipelines and vector databases
• Experience with LLMOps and evaluation frameworks
Other Requirements
• Experience building end-to-end systems from scratch
• Track record of optimizing for latency and cost in production systems
• Prior work in Series A/B startups or fast-paced environments
• Comfortable working with data-intensive applications and distributed systems
• Ability to pick up new technologies quickly and move across the stack as needed
• Solid understanding of performance, system design, and scalability
