Role Description
This is a full-time remote role based in Chennai, with flexibility for some remote work. As a Product Development Engineer at NxtHive, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing new products and technologies. Your daily tasks will include conducting research and development, executing product design, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and integrating mechanical and analytical engineering principles into product solutions. You will play a key role in ensuring all designs meet quality and performance standards while driving technological innovation.
Qualifications
Data Engineering
SQL — joins, aggregations, window functions, CTEs
Basic ETL pipeline concepts — extract, transform, load
Familiarity with Pandas & NumPy for data manipulation
Exposure to data warehouses — BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift
Basic understanding of Apache Kafka or Airflow (even conceptually)
Knowledge of structured vs unstructured data handling
Familiarity with data modeling — star schema, flat tables
Machine Learning
Fundamentals of supervised & unsupervised learning
Hands-on with Scikit-learn — regression, classification, clustering
Basic feature engineering & data preprocessing
Understanding of model evaluation metrics — RMSE, F1, AUC
Exposure to time series forecasting (highly relevant for logistics/analytics SaaS)
Familiarity with Jupyter Notebooks for experimentation
Analytics/SaaS-Specific
Data visualization — Chart.js, Recharts, Plotly, or Matplotlib
Basic understanding of KPI dashboards and metric design
Exposure to BI tools like Power BI or Tableau
Awareness of multi-tenant SaaS architecture
Cloud & MLOps (Basic Awareness)
Cloud platforms — AWS, GCP, or Azure (S3, BigQuery, or equivalent)
Basic model deployment concepts — API-based serving
Familiarity with Docker for containerization
