Role Description The Software Testing Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Nagercoil. This role involves designing and executing test plans and test cases for web and data-driven applications, identifying and documenting defects, and working closely with developers to ensure timely resolution. The Software Testing Engineer will perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing, and may contribute to test automation scripts and frameworks where applicable. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing requirements and specifications, validating system performance and usability, maintaining test documentation, and supporting continuous improvement of quality assurance processes.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in software testing fundamentals, including test planning, test case design, functional testing, regression testing, and defect tracking tools.
- Experience with web application and API testing, basic understanding of databases and SQL, and familiarity with browser and device compatibility testing.
- Ability to work with test management tools and, preferably, exposure to test automation frameworks or scripting in languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in identifying issues and verifying fixes.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and documenting test results clearly.
- Ability to work on-site in Nagercoil, manage time efficiently, and contribute positively to a collaborative startup environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Exposure to Agile or Scrum methodologies, and interest in continuous learning in areas such as data analytics, web technologies, and quality engineering.
