About The Company
Grid Dynamics is a global digital transformation company that specializes in delivering innovative software solutions and advanced testing frameworks to leading enterprises across various industries. With a focus on leveraging cutting-edge technologies, Grid Dynamics empowers organizations to accelerate their digital initiatives, optimize operational efficiency, and enhance customer experiences. The company boasts a talented team of engineers, data scientists, and consultants dedicated to driving technological excellence and fostering a culture of continuous innovation.
About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Test Automation Engineer with a strong background in developing and maintaining scalable, reliable, and efficient testing frameworks. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Playwright (TypeScript) for both UI and API testing, along with a solid understanding of framework design principles, fixtures, parallelization, and reporting. This role involves designing and implementing test automation solutions for complex web flows, integrating testing pipelines within CI/CD environments, and ensuring high-quality product releases. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA, and product managers, to deliver robust testing strategies that support our platform and AI capabilities.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in test automation, focusing on production-quality code rather than proof-of-concept scripts.
- Proficiency in Playwright with TypeScript, including framework design, fixtures, parallel execution, and comprehensive reporting.
- Strong expertise in TypeScript and JavaScript, capable of writing complex framework code.
- Experience with CI/CD tools, preferably Jenkins, including pipeline configuration, environment-aware execution, and deployment-triggered testing.
- Solid understanding of API test automation, including REST protocols, JSON schema validation, request chaining, and authentication flows.
- Knowledge of test framework patterns such as Page Object Model, fixture-based design, data-driven testing, and parallel execution.
- Experience with version control systems like Git, code reviews, and branch-based development workflows.
- Familiarity with cross-browser testing using SauceLabs or BrowserStack.
- Optional but highly valued: experience with AI tooling (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot), payments or fintech domains, and observability tools like Grafana, Splunk, or Datadog.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript for both UI and API testing.
- Implement robust test automation strategies for complex multi-step web flows, including checkout, registration, and SDK-driven UIs.
- Develop API tests for tokenization, authentication, and enrollment services, ensuring comprehensive test coverage and validation.
- Integrate test automation pipelines within CI/CD environments, enabling automated test execution triggered by deployment processes.
- Design and implement cross-browser testing strategies, leveraging SauceLabs or BrowserStack to ensure platform compatibility.
- Create and maintain real-time dashboards and reports for execution monitoring, failure pattern analysis, and root cause investigations.
- Develop self-healing test patterns to improve locator resilience, dynamic data substitution, and fallback mechanisms.
- Manage test data orchestration, ensuring environment isolation, data reuse, and cleanup to prevent shared-data anti-patterns.
- Collaborate with development and product teams to understand requirements, provide testing insights, and improve test coverage.
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous process improvements to enhance testing quality and efficiency.
Benefits
- Competitive salary package aligned with industry standards.
- Flexible work arrangements to support work-life balance.
- Comprehensive health insurance plans including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- Opportunities for professional growth through training, certifications, and participation in cutting-edge projects.
- Collaborative and inclusive work environment that fosters innovation and continuous learning.
- Access to advanced tools and technologies to support your work and development.
- Paid time off, holidays, and employee wellness programs to promote overall well-being.
