About mera.health
mera.health is building an AI-powered personal health records platform for Indian families. We help people organize, understand, and act on their medical documents, lab reports, and prescriptions, all in one place. Our stack combines OCR, vision models, and LLMs to extract and interpret health data from messy real-world documents.
We're an early-stage, co-founder-led team based in Bengaluru. If you want to work on hard problems at the intersection of AI and healthcare, and ship features that directly impact how Indian families manage their health, read on.
The Role
We're hiring a Software Engineer to work across the full stack and AI pipeline. This is a full-time, on-site role in Bengaluru.
Here's the kind of work you'd be doing:
- Building and improving our document processing pipeline (OCR, vision model integration, LLM-based extraction and classification)
- Designing and maintaining APIs and backend services on Supabase (PostgreSQL, Edge Functions, Deno/TypeScript)
- Working with local and cloud-hosted LLMs for structured data extraction from medical documents
- Integrating with Indian healthcare standards and datasets (ABDM/ABHA, LOINC, Indian-specific reference ranges)
- Building and refining frontend experiences with React and Vite
- Collaborating directly with the founders on product and architecture decisions
This isn't a role where you'll be handed a detailed spec. You'll be expected to make judgment calls, propose solutions, and own features end to end.
What we're looking for
- Strong fundamentals across the stack: you're comfortable with PostgreSQL, REST APIs, TypeScript or Python, and modern frontend frameworks like React
- Experience with (or genuine curiosity about) LLMs, prompt engineering, and integrating AI models into production systems
- Familiarity with OCR pipelines or computer vision, especially vision models for document understanding
- Experience running or fine-tuning local LLMs is a strong plus
- Comfort working in a small team where priorities shift and you wear multiple hats
- Familiarity with Supabase, Deno, or serverless architectures is a bonus
- Background in healthcare tech is a bonus, not a requirement
Nice to have
- Experience with FHIR, ABDM, or Indian health data standards
- Exposure to prompt versioning, evaluation, or LLM observability tooling
- Contributions to open-source projects
Why join
You'd be joining at a stage where your work shapes the product and the engineering culture. You'll work directly with the founders, ship to real users, and solve genuinely interesting problems around document AI and health data in the Indian context.
