Role Description As a Software Engineer at MemX, you will design, develop, and maintain backend services that power our unified memory platform. You will work on building scalable APIs, integrating AI-powered search capabilities, optimizing data storage and retrieval, and ensuring system reliability and performance. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, tested code, reviewing peer code, participating in architectural discussions, and collaborating closely with product and mobile engineering teams to deliver features end-to-end. You will help improve developer tooling, monitoring, and deployment pipelines, and contribute to technical documentation and best practices. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Bengaluru, with a mix of in-office collaboration and some work-from-home flexibility.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in core Computer Science concepts such as data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and databases.
- Hands-on experience in Software Development and Programming using at least one modern language (e.g., Python, Java, Go, or Node.js).
- Proficiency in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and ability to design modular, maintainable systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Comfort with version control (Git), code reviews, and collaborative development in an agile environment.
- Ability to analyze performance bottlenecks, optimize queries and services, and design systems for scalability and reliability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid, cross-functional team.
- Experience with search technologies, ML/AI integration, or working on mobile-backed APIs is a plus.
