About Libra AI
Libra AI is building the horizontal work super-agent, an AI coworker that connects to 250+ tools (Slack, Gmail, Google Drive, Jira, Linear, and more) and gets real work done on your behalf. Our mission is to eliminate the fragmented, repetitive busywork that drowns modern teams and replace it with intelligent automation that acts across every tool you already use.
Founded in 2025 and backed by pre-seed funding, we are a small, high-ownership team of ~11 headquartered in Palo Alto with a growing engineering hub in Bengaluru. We ship fast, think in leverage, and believe the next five years will be defined by the gap between high-leverage teams and everyone else.
About the Role
As a Founding Engineer, you will be one of the earliest engineering hires and a core owner of the product. This is not a maintenance role. You will design systems from scratch, ship features that customers use daily, and shape the technical and cultural foundation of the company. You will work directly with the founder/CEO and have an outsized impact on the trajectory of the product and the company.
You should expect to move fast, wear multiple hats, and make decisions with incomplete information. If the idea of building a category-defining product from the ground up excites you, this is your role.
Responsibilities
• Design and build core platform features end-to-end, from the agent orchestration layer to third-party API integrations to the frontend surfaces customers interact with • Own critical infrastructure: scaling our agent runtime, building reliable connector frameworks, and ensuring sub-second response times across hundreds of concurrent workflows • Ship to production daily. We deploy multiple times a day and measure impact in customer outcomes, not ticket counts • Architect the next generation of our multi-step agent workflow engine, including context retrieval, tool-use planning, and execution reliability • Set the bar for engineering quality: code review standards, testing practices, observability, and on-call culture • Collaborate directly with the founder on product roadmap, prioritization, and technical strategy • Mentor future engineers as the team scales and help build the engineering culture from first principles
Must-Have Qualifications
• 2+ years of software engineering experience in production systems at a startup or high-growth product company • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React on the frontend, and Node or Go on the backend. You are comfortable across the full stack • Experience building and shipping production features that integrate with third-party APIs (OAuth flows, rate limits, webhooks, idempotency) • Deep understanding of at least one: LLM application development (prompt engineering, RAG, tool-use, agent frameworks), distributed systems, or real-time data pipelines • Product-minded engineer: you obsess over user experience, write your own specs, and ship with taste • Bias for action: you ship to learn, prefer simple solutions, and are allergic to over-engineering • Comfort with ambiguity and rapid iteration
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with LLM agent frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, or custom agent orchestration) • Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, Kubernetes, and Docker at production scale • Prior founding engineer or early-team experience at a venture-backed startup • Open-source contributions or side projects with meaningful usage • Familiarity with the productivity / SaaS tooling ecosystem (Slack, Jira, Linear, Notion APIs)
Our Tech Stack
Languages: TypeScript, Node (Go is a plus) Frontend: React, Next.js, CSS Backend: Node.js, Python services, REST and WebSocket APIs AI/ML: OpenAI models, custom agent orchestration, RAG pipelines Data: PostgreSQL, Redis Infrastructure: Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub Actions Tools: GitHub, Jira, Figma, Google Workspace
What We Offer
• Founding equity: meaningful ownership in a company you help build from the ground up • Competitive salary: we pay top of market for founding talent • Direct access to the founder and full transparency into company strategy, metrics, and fundraising • Zero bureaucracy. You own your domain end-to-end and ship without waiting for permission • High leverage: every line of code you write touches thousands of users within days • A team of sharp, low-ego builders who care about craft and impact, not titles or process • Bengaluru on-site: we believe the best work happens when we are in the same room, solving hard problems together
